 There was something about the tone about this book that I liked. When you add in the characters the book gets even better. Towards the beginning of the book, I didn't much care for Rhett. I thought that he was a immature, douchy, jerk but then as the author delved deeper into his personality I grew to like him so much more. I think that she was trying to show that he just enjoyed teasing her in order to get a certain reaction like my husband does with me (although not the kind of teasing in the book). I also liked Saylor. She was dealt a difficult hand but was resilient and still managed to be kind and considerate towards others. I also enjoyed the side characters in the story because they actually added something to the story rather than being around for no reason. 
The reason I gave the book 3/5 stars is due to this type of story being done before. The author also managed to add many of the typical tropes into the story, more so than I felt were needed which made this story too much like everything else I have seen before. That being said, the author was still able to make me enjoy her book regardless.
